Hey guys, i have a 4ft tank and a canister filter to run it. How should i position it? so the intake pipe is longer (to the left)? the outlet pipe longer (to the right)? or the same length (eg right in centre)?

Cheers

it depends. most of the time you want a cannister for bio filtration so it doesnt need to pick up poo etc. in that case you can put in- and outtake in the same corner and use internal filters to pick up debris. if you do want your cannister to pick up debris, you either use powerheads to blow everything to the intake or put in- and output on different sides of the tank so you create some flow.

cool it would be mainly for biofiltration, so the water would mix enough for the filterr to be on one side and for the water to be even in consistency?

on my 55 gallon I had a magnum 350 pro. I had an intake, a flan outlet and dual biowheels. I place the wheels on the leftside of the tank and the tubes on the other and it rocked!
