I'm running an EHEIM Classis 2217 on a 75 Gallon tank...I can barely tell its on and the spray rail disperses the water so evenly and gently it makes it even harder to tell its running. I've always been a HOB guy and it takes some getting used to.

Cleaning the canister is a pain in the butt though...all the media is just stacked on top of one another and you have to place all the bio media in seperate containers to get to the filter pads when they need to be changed. I'm just used to HOB power filters like Aquaclear where the media comes out very easily.

I have 3x 2217 and a 2215 and they run great. One of the 2217's is only a week or so old but the others have been with me for a while. One of the 2217's and the 2215 have been with me since the mid 90's and work great to this day.

So my vote goes to EHEIM!

I was debating on a few brands but wanted to see what everyone else thought was the most reliable

Check out the sticky on exactly that topic :)
