Canister Filtration?

for what tanks size and what kind of fish... :) ?
 
with only one hystrix in there the susn sun can cover it but i would maybe add another filter just so if you clean out one you still have good bb going. also its a great fail safe. a temporary tank this will be fine for a bit but really i would go bigger as this tank is not a life tank for a hystrix. also i agree with the above statements to take the carbon out. good water changes and proper water maintanence your tank will not smell.
 
I personally have problems with canisters of any kind. I have owned 3 now, and all three eventually leaked and flooded my house. Just keep up with the gasket on the lid and change often, then hope it doesn't fail anyways.

I have had much better luck with HOB and wet dry sumps. Just my opinion.

I wonder if this is brand related, i have had eheims for over 20 years and never had one leak or even a failed gasket.
