I'm going to have nine tanks when I set these up. I really hate to have 10 heaters (two for the 125), plus all the lights and the filters. There are a lot of people out there who use one filtration and one heat source for multiple tanks. I'd just rather not drill the tanks if I don't have to.

Going with one filter is the way to go with multiple tanks in the same room, fish room. I think the easiest way to do it is using a large centrally located sump and running a drain from each tank to the sump. Put your heaters in the sump and set up a float for water level control, if you want to get fancy. :headbang2

For the return to your tanks you can go with one large pump and a manifold to throttle water flow to each tank as needed. or You can use multiple pumps. Multiple pumps is nice for redundancy, if one goes out your not in to much trouble. With this type of system, what ever you pump into the tank will drain to the sump. No overflowing your fish tanks. If you want to go with a canister filter, just hook it up to the sump and pump from the sump to the fish tank or a manifold then to multiple tanks. Easy Money :)
