canister level with tank?

Is it ok to have a canister filter level with the tank its pumping? The tank is a 125 gallon and the pump would be a fx5, the stand would be just a little off the floor so there would be to room to put canister under the tank. thanks in advance,

i have a cascade 1500. as long as the intake and the outlet and the canister is primed with water. it'll be good.

Problem is the fx5 is near the same height as the 125g. Plus what happens when that fx5 pauses for 5 minutes to let air escape? I think I would wait for some fx5 owners to chime in. Like I said it does not work very well with an xp3.

the fx5 is as tall as a cascade 1500, try it see if it works.

I agree, an XP3 has a hard time running without the gravity assist.
