I believe thats your jealousy not cheese ;)

Op, regardless of country de railing your thread he has 0 experience with the filters mentioned in this thread, I've had the same ac110 running for many many years, their bulletproof! Fx5 are great too, personally I'd go with that!

Either way both are awesome and you'll be more then happy! Ac110 also come with carbon, a big sponge, and ceramic bio, great deal, just picked another one up at my lfs for 75$!

From my experience if your worried about too big of a current my AC 110 had a lot more of a current than my Emperor 400s have now. But the XP4s do look nice . No experience with them but I've heard good things.

Xp4's are great for bio filtration, they can be a bit tricky to get running without air in the can and priming. I had one, sold it and bought fx5. Def better then xp4, it all comes down to the money your willing to spend!

I built this stand a couple weeks ago without a thought of a canister in my future. The door on the side has an opening of 10x21" Would an FX5 fit? or even a RenaXP4?

Fx5 is about 17" tall, so that's perfect! BTW nice tank, I love it!

You can also use the pump on the unit to drain water out your tank, pretty cool!

Yours too F1, and a bar is never wrong!

I just got done with a google search and the fx5 is short but wide and won't fit the 10" width opening. The xp4 is 9.25" wide and 21" tall so it would fit. Once in the door there is more room for taller things although I might have to tilt it out. I could cut a door in the front but my wife likes it the way it is so....discussion over. lol

Turn it over left right upside down.. Fx5 still won't fit in there? I have 1 fx5 on a 75g planted, makes my water crisp.

Thanks for the compliment Bro!

Xp3/4 would be the way to go then, and there's mad sales on xp3 right now for about 110$ on Dr fosters, id use one stacked with pure mechanical (filterpads) for polishing and one stacked with just bio, all 3 trays! So one for each application, that's very efficient and your water will be crisp, clear and ammonia/nitrite free! I believe this is your BEST bet!

Haha there ya go! Use a sledge hammer to beat it in, I agree fx5 are beast!

Also the canister doesn't have to go under the stand, it only has two tubes that run to the tank so it'll look fine! It will do the job of 2 xp3 any day, just check out the surface area on all 6 sponges, its a 5.3 gallon bucket!
