the only problem with that is the emerors are going to be working twice as much, if you can you want to get 2 of the same filters so one isn't working harder than the other. for instance i am setting up a 135 right now and put 2 eheim 2028's BUT i am going to have cichlids in it which get a bit messy as they grow.
Filters cannot be run inline unless they are all operated by one pump. Because of this, it does not matter what combination of filters you use. If someone wanted, they could have 1 AC110, 1 emp 400, 1 eheim 2217, 1 eheim 2028, 1 XP3, 1 Fluval 405, and one whisper 60.

Just get yourself a diy overflow and do a sump. Place your heater(s) in the sump along with other equipment you'd usually have in tank and you just cleaned up the look of your tank. Sumps are also a heck of a lot more flexible. Any media you want you can throw in a sump and you can make it as cheap or as expensive as you want.

I don't understand? How will two separate filters affect each other?

i use a 45 gal sump along with 2 ac 110 on my 220 and they work great together the sump for the bio and the 110 for mech also check the diy section for overflows if you dont want to drill your tank
