CanNOT get my nitrates down

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This tank is a 900 liter discus biotope (240 gallon ) .... Due to heavy feeding, nitrates were always too high and water changes were getting too expensive in money and time.

Normal drug store alcohol was used, following a dosing table to saftly bring nitrates down. Did it work, yes it did, no side effects on animals or bacteria colony (using big wet/dry DIY filter). Over a year without water changes and nitrates are kept in place nicely.

Discus spawn and breed frequently without problems !!!

Heres a vid ...

*If anyone wants the dosing table, and wants to give it a try, let me know.

PD Im not a irresponsable aquarist, and i have a +12 years experience in salt/freshwater systems.

Save the vodka for me!!

And vacum ur substrate! Especially under decor!!! Its not hard. Vac + water change = low nitrates
