Any suggestions? I've had him for three days and every day after work he is inside the filter. It's a Marineland biowheel 350 HOB. I tried making the gap where the water flows smaller with a piece of plastic backing but he still gets in. Maybe one of you guys can think of something.

My fire eel used to do that all the time when he was little. Maybe try a piece of tygon tubing and cut it to fit? Get him a new hiding spot for the tank?

i have had my ropes do that and my TT eel did it daily i would try 2 cover it wit neting or egg crate i riged sum plexiglass 4 mine and put a rock on it 2 keep it down

Thanks for the advice everyone, it's of no importance now. Evidently the fish was able to find an exit that not even I could find and I found him dead on the floor.

Yeah, I honestly thought I did. I spent most of the afternoon after I got him messing around with it but somehow he managed to find the spot I missed. It is a real bummer because ropefish were one of those fish I've wanted since I started in on the hobby and have only now finally gotten one.
