Yes : It gives it a -shimmer- effect like in the ocean or clear water you can see the sunlight dancing off the ground ..

IMO It looks more appealing/cool .

The fans help to keep the canopy dry and to cool the water temp by
6-deg

what components did you use on your canopy? Where did you find the blue energy saving light bulb and what purpose do they serve for your lighting sceme for your tank? How long did it take you to build?
Your canopy has given me ideas for my own canopy. Nice job. Looks neat, organized and effective.

I had no plan on the lighting except the fact that I wanted to try to give the fish day light late night and then moonlight effect , SO the strip lighting for the day the blue bulbs for the late evening and the black light for the moon light . 4pm strip lights on 9pm strip lights off 9pm blue lights on 10pm blue lights off 10pm black light on 2am black light off dark .

I used pine and osb T-8strip light fixturs 10$ x 3 = 30$ Light fixtures
the T-8 bulbs 3 x 30$ antic blue 3 x 30$18,000k = 120$ lights
wood 1peac 1"x8"x10' 8$ 1peac 1"x3"x10' 2$ 1peac4'x8'osb 7$ = 17$ wood
Paint 6$
Fans = free .

Brilliant idea. Did you purchase the light sockets for the blue lights separately or did they come as a complete fixture?

Edit: What did you use to fasten the mirrors on to your hood? Why did you decide on mirrors as opposed to polished aluminum sheet metal?
