Cant Decide What i Want!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i wouldnt get nothing else cause you will end up overstocked you could get one more fish maybe i dont really like keeping african cichlids but i love oscars i have a 180 gallon with 4 oscars that i just moved out of my massive pond

growing is the key word. the chocolates will get about 12" and quite bulky, the nics will prolly get around 10" too. thats too much for a 48x18 tank

I have to agree with everyone else. In your original post you said we are the guys to ask. So you asked and we're telling you, the tank is full, too full already IMO. Growing is one thing but you have to stock a tank based on the adult size of the species stocked.

id get rid of the chocolates and the nics, and go with
4 sajicas
1 convict
2 firemouths
and about 4-6 swordtails, to liven things up and give the others fry to eat constantly

2 Chocolates in a 75g is the minimum, they will fill that tank when grown, the pair should be in at least 90g. And, you should not be looking for more fish until you have more tanks the put the fish you already have.

A 75 is only like 18 inches wide right?
IF this is the tank they are going to be in when they are mature, I would not buy anymore fish.
I mean, if the fish do get 12 inches long and your tank is only 18 inches wide, that's not very nice. I suggest looking for a larger tank for them or find a new home. You do have lots of time to pick up a new tank though. Aim for at least 24 inches wide I would say, but bigger is better really.

no im not buying a bigger tank! 75G is plenty big for growing these guys out.
Believe it or not, your 75gal is only a grow out tank. You seriously need to consider buying a larger tank or trading your Chocs for something smaller. I also see that you have a Synspilum in your possible stock list...don't do it! They get much too large for that tank with tankmates especially two Chocs.
