He is swimming vertical most likely because he has nowhere to perch himself. Juruense cats IME like to perch themselves on large plant leaves, or flat pieces of driftwood facing the current.
I would dump in a bunch of feeders that will last the tank at least 12 hours. That is how I get all my new fish to eat. Many times new fish get nervous when you get close to the tank or open the lid and won't feel comfortable enough to eat until all of the fish are gone.

. Should i move him back in the 85gl where he was eating ? or will the change make him not eat for another 5 days or so ? need some advice please!!
first time in 5 days!! good point about perching himself i have driftwood in my tank, but it seems most of my water current is on the serface. Should i put a power head in the bottom corner of the tank to get him to swim on the bottom ? here is a pic of the tank he is in now please let me know if you see somthing wrong with my setup. 240gl, FX5 temp 81.6 F
I would be nice to see a pic of your catfish and your 240gl.
