Trying feeding krill or worms, along with the pellets, so it understands that its good... try weening, some fish are stubborn... especially festae also I agree with the Garlic, keep us updated.
I use NLS pellets that sink and I swore that my Jack Dempsey would never eat them or had been. But surely enough after feeding one day, I walked around the corner and sat and watched from a far and he started eating them. So I recommend either trying sinking pellets or feeding small portions of krill and worms with the pellets to trick em. Good luck.
NLS is a good sinking pellet. I use NLS thera +A along with the occasional Omega One Super Color pellets and Hikari Gold and Bio Gold+.
A trick for getting new fish to eat the floaters is to start them with the sinking pellets. Eventually (usually within a week or two of taking the sinkers) they start coming to the surface waiting for the food to be dropped anyway, and at that point you can switch over to the Bio Gold+.
NLS thera+a is sinking and already contains a mega-dose of garlic that helps prevent parasites. It doesn't matter if your pike eats right out of your hand, you might have a fish that will never take food from the surface no matter what you do. It took my salvini about a month to even come to the top half of the tank during feeding, and my blue acara female still doesn't do it after 6 months.
Ideally the fish should swallow the pellet whole without having to chew on it too much. That's how they get the best nutrition and less uneaten food gets in your water.
I've tried soaking and they do sink eventually, but by the time you throw it in the tank it's already dissolving and breaks down easily, polluting your water - at least I could see the cloudy stuff and particles coming out of them.
