Imported 100 Cichla Ocellaris about 5 months ago, all around 2". Of the 12 that survived the trip from Colombia (don't use that supplier anymore!) I have 3 left (sold on) and I can't get them to accept anything other than cichlid gold pellets. When they first got in thyey were on a diet of bloodworm and live river shrimp, but managed to ween onto pellet to reduce costs a little and to vary diet; but now they won't accept anything but pellet- including live foods! I know the packaging says complete balanced diet but surely it cannot be good for them to be reliant on one food source...can it?

Any help or techniques to mix their diet up would be greatly appreciated (if I need to)

Yea, you lucked out with pbass that will only take pellets. If you are worried about a balanced diet you can feed them a variety of pellets
