Take the male out and wait a month. In that small space one or the other is going to get stressed and die eventually.

Hmmm, i'm just worried about getting even more fish in such a small tank because i do not want a big bioload. I might take out the male, as suggested, hoping that the sperm is already in the female and without the presence of a male she'll use the stored sperm. I also do not want to get more females because if they do give birth, I'm afraid that the other females will eat the fry out of jealousy or aggression.

Sorry, but please no mating jokes about the "sword"

I agree just stick with the pair you have already. Your female will wind up giving birth. Chances are she is gravid now.

The parents themselves will eat the fry . That's just the way fish are but if fry have hide areas some will make it.

You could always place one of those hang in tank mesh fish holding "cages" and grow them out in that as simple enough.
