Wow. I've never even seen the least bit of aggression out of mine. How do they do it? Do they shank the prey, or do they hunt with their mouths?

Thats an impressive catch for the ray. Tinfoils are quick. Are you feeding the rays daily?

My 18" female motoro ate my 14" flagtail and before that she ate a 10" delheize poly and i was feeding her every day cause she was preggers.:cry:

I skip a day every once in a while. Sometimes feedings are 30 hours apart sometimes 12. Kinda just keep it random and varied with homemade gel and seafood.

Tinfoils are definetly quick. It would take me forever to catch the one that's still in there...lol.

She's really quick when she pounces. If I had to guess I bet she was bored rather then hungry. Although she does eat a lot....

I have a 6" vatf in with my rays and my female motoro is quite ravenous. I suspect her as the one that is picking off the small cuda. I feed twice daily so hopefully that will help.

When my marble was eating my Pink tails it would swim along the middle level and try to pounce on it in open water. They are alot smarter and faster than we think.

I've seen this as well. Your Jag was excellent at it.

I think it's just in thier nature... Even if purely for sport rather then food.

Thats mother nature for you. I saw your link on the other post, so thought I would share here to. My Motoro took out my 6 1/2" bala shark a few weeks back. Now I hope mine dont decided to try and take out my 9"+ clown knife...
Must be something in the water....lol
Literally!!!
