Capa around 2ft
Pati 16”+
Vallantii 15”+

All growing well. I think the capa will be ready for the big pond in the next two months.

Feeding 2/3 times a week. A mixture of mussles. Prawns, whitefish and pellets.

Pati is growing and slowly starting to thicken out, vallantii following suit aswell.

Thank you for the update.

I forgot your capa story but is it really B. capapretum? Mine has long lost any spots by the 2' size. Your fish looks closer to B. filamentosum to a quick glance - these guys still have spots at 2' and the size and density of the spots looks about right for one.

My vaillantii almost quit growing a year or longer ago. Sure it's been growing but so slowly and so little it feels like it's been stuck at around 1.5'. Feeds well though, so I don't know what the deal is.

The capa is an unusual one for sure. Oddly, I’ve had the same conversation with someone else who has kept capa to a large size. Mine hasn’t lost the spots yet, I don’t know why, it’s deffiently not a piriaba. Head shapes all wrong. Belly markings are all wrong. I think it may just be a catch location thing or it’s a sub sp. but unlikely. I honestly have no idea. It’s an unusual one for sure. But I’ve noticed the larger he’s got. The spots are starting to fade, but his growth has really slowed down the last 6 months.

Holy! That's a nice fish. The pattern also somewhat unusual for capa. Maybe this kind of pattern in capa are the same as full spotted in fila

That’s a very good point and possibly the nicest compliment you’ve gave me lol!
I don’t know the catch location and the fact the fish is now around 2 years old, highly unlikely I’ll find out if I asked.

I think this is the first time I see such spotting on a capapretum. The spots look ocellated like on a jaguar (feline). Wow. Perhaps you had already posted these pics and I thoroughly forgot. All the more reason for you to be more consistent and diligent in thread creation and follow through ;) (sorry, couldn't help it) You always seem to surprise me with something up your sleeve...

Otherwise, I'd agree with the capa label.

I don’t think I have shared these pictures on here yet. So this may be a first. I have a lot of fish and my life’s hectic, I’ve got other rare ones I haven’t even got around to sharing. I’m a busy guy. I don’t have enough time to sit down half the time. But I shall try. I do think the capa needs his own thread now he’s getting large. I don’t know of any other apart from yours that have made it to 2feet + yet
