Yeah, the guy told me someone just bought 3, and the others have been going like crazy. lol. So, now on top of getting a new poly, now I have even more of a reason to justify building a tank to my wife. Who is probably filing divorce papers as we speak:eek::D:D

lol I think you made the right decision

Don't know if it matters, but I did a quick scale count. Getting about 61-62 rows.

So I counted the scales on B Bubutmd thread on his WC Chad PBB. It's ~60. So I think it varies.

Although it's super duper fun to count. I wouldn't be too concern with Lateral Line Scale counts. Much of the taxonomic info such as listed below from fish base and others may not be updated. Same goes with finlet counts. PBB can have 14-18 and PBL (lapradei) can be 13-17.

P. bichir bichir has 63 to 70 scales in lateral line
P. bichir lapradei has 58 to 68 scales in lateral line

I wonder where they getting all this new cb pbb. Seems like is going to be available everywhere in the US now. My lfs that sells me most of my cb poly just called me and they said they have a cb polypterus bichir bichir for $80 6".

2017 Hottest Polypterus!

I agree! I'm just getting into the poly game and I've had my eyes set on one since I saw them on the poly bio post

But with all this talk of if they are hybrids or not I got to thinking even if it does turn out to be a hybrid I will be happy as long as it's healthy, gets big, and has some decent patterns. It's really the head shape of laps and PBB that got me hooked
