Car audio?

You could have wired the speakers differently, but that probably would have been a hassle. Buying stuff from the big names isn't always the best thing, but that's not to say you didn't get good speakers. I overpaid for Kappa 6x9's years ago...$100 isn't bad at all. What reviews did you look at...j/w? The 6x9's in my truck are Pioneer 3-way w/ horn tweeters and I've had them for 13 years and they've done very well for me. Sorry again if I'm coming across as rude at all; it's not my intention. You're sig is awesome, btw.
 
I have kappa 4x6 plates in the doors and love them however I did run across a lot of mixed reviews for the 6x9s plus they were all 2ohm. I read owner reviews at onlinestereo.com, amazon, and a few other places that came up when I googled the model. Combined there were around two hundred reviews at 4.5/5 stars. It was between these and kickers, I had kickers before and loved them but never had fosgates so I figured I'd give them a test. Probably gonna need a new car in a couple of years and want to get caught up on current stuff so that I can build a nice little stereo, no subs but a nice 4ch 1000w amp with components, 6x9s and a touch screen with navigation.
 
I can't stand not having a sub...they just make every kind of music sound better to me, but you can make up for it by amping 6x9's. Here's a really good place to start researching: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/
 
I know what you mean about the subs but I'm either getting a sierra or wrangler next. Don't wanna have a box in the jeep with top off and the sierra would be an extended cab and I don't think I want anything that would hijder functionality of the back seat. If I wind up with a crew cab and rear buckets I may build a nice consul with subs.

the monsoon amp has 2ch for highs and 2ch for lows so if I used 6x9s I'd have to manipulate the speakers wiring or decide between just highs or just lows. I could have done 2 ohm components if I ran the tweeters in series and only used 1 Ch for the highs. But after thinking it through using the jvc was my best option.
