Hey guys so someone is siphoning gas out of my fiancee's car. Are those locking gas caps that good or do you guys have any ideas to keep my fuel napping thief out of her gas tank? Thanks in advance for the info.

They deserve to be baseball batted.....I had heard that it was harder to syphon gas with some of the newer cars,don't know how true it is.I didn't know people still did this kind of thing anymore but I shouldn't be shocked.
See thats awesome and all but I have ptsd and a tbi from Iraq. So now I really don't have an off button until they stop wiggling so I would probably be in handcuffs, a bag (I don't handle cops well), or a place to rent wood chippers by the next day. Crazy thing is we live in an alright neighborhood, mainly new families and older people, we've got a street light in the front yard, I kind of think its this group of 4 sometimes 5 little wanna be thugs that live in the neighborhood but I cant prove it. I've had to ask them to leave a few times bc they were smoking a blunts in front of the house waiting on their school bus (the bus stop is a few houses down). But I do appreciate the info about the locking gas caps doing pretty well everybody. Can you leave them unlocked and lock them at night or are they locked all the time?
Gas caps lock all the time, once you click them on the turn handle just spins until you put the key in it to take it off. The better gas caps are from the dealer, yeah, they cost a bit more but they fit better on the car and seal better which prevents the check engine light form going off due to vapor leaks in the fuel system due to a loose cap. Expect to pay about $30.
PTSD sucks, I deal with it too. Personally, if it was me I'd look at getting setting up a good night vision web camera that can record to hard drive and test it out to make sure you got a good view. Call the cops on the non-emergency line and tell them you want more patrols due to property vandalism and tell them it's getting worse. Do you have castle law in your state? We do, and if someone is on my property and threatens me I have to right to defend myself with whatever is needed, it makes me feel a bit better knowing if sometime does happen if I confront a person on my property I won't be going to jail for defending myself. Then, sit it out and watch the camera, I can't say what is better after that - running out to confront them when they are doing it (what i would do after calling 911), or turning the tape over to police and hoping they handle it (maybe, if they get to it).
What is said above is true, some people will drill the tank to get gas, but most see that as too risky. You may have made some enemies with those kids and their blunts, maybe time to call the police about people throwing their mary jane in your front yard every day? I don't know how your police are, and you said you don't like them much either so. Around here we would have 3 squad cars in 3-4 minutes some days because they get bored. Walking around cleaning your yard up in the morning with an asp or tire thumper hooked to your belt works here very well - after all - you are protecting yourself from stray dogs that you've seen running in the neighborhood recently that might bite you.

Good advice. Night vision cams would tap into the fish budget bro. lol I think I'm going to get the locking gas cap and keep my eyes open. I guess a punji pit would be considered premeditated, huh?
