Apparently you've never driven one. 3.2TL's are a very comfortable and yet suprisingly fun car to drive. And being that they are built by Honda they are also very reliable.

do audis have electrical gremlins?

I've owned Audis in the past and my opinion on them is that they are great cars as long as you never have to work on them yourself and you can afford to pay somone to chase those electrical gremlins constantly.

Only thing that pops in my mind is an older audi or subaru.... lots of fun...but gotta have the money for the extra stuff that goes with them.

As for electircal issues... it can come with any car. If the person does not upkeep their car and ignores problems then yes they can have them. I used to work for Audi and I ve seen electrical issues but not that often, usually they were on older cars and they normally were not that well taken care of. This can go for any car though. I would however throughly go over an Audi if you buy one. You need to make sure you have all information on the car as possible, records or reciptes for parts if they installed themself. I would always check over another persons personal work (no offense) as some people ghetto rig stuff (seen it many times). With an Audi its never a bad idea to diag any lights that may be on when you want to purchase the car, sometimes its minor and somtimes its big. You don't want to buy someone elses problems with an Audi because it can get extremely pricey if you can't work on it yourself. Just advice from what I have seen go in and out of the shop. Audis are great cars as long as it has been taken care of, I would def. get one if I could.

Subaru 2.5RS would be my next choice then. You can pick them up for $4-5k in good shape, then spend the remainder of your budget on motor work and suspension.

I like the sound of your previous post as well....good ideas. I love both my subies! My newer is a blast! I got an 03 wrx w/ a seiezed motor for $2700, got another motor for $2200. I added 3'' catless exhaust and tuned my stock wastegate and this cars a blast! I got complete custom exhaust for 170...brand new injen up-pipe....havent installed yet...waiting for $$$ to do other mods at the same time. Fuel pump, injectors, accesport, brakes etc. IMO a used wrx w/ some mods is a great car...especially for the price.

did the op ever state wether he needed a family car or fun car?

wrx mos def, youd be a fool to get anything else.

You said no american muscle but 2002 trans am, or camaro. Fast, sporty, has 4 seats. At 10k you can get a really clean one. Deff will smoke 90% other cars on the road.
