Mine doubled at random once, no reason no explanation, no tickets no accidents.


A phone call to ask why and *poof* it was lowered to about 2/3 of what it had been the year before.

Y'all don't want to know what my insurance is. I can't believe people pay so much for insurance. Wow...there IS a better way. I wish more people saw that.

I'm just changing insurance no matter what. I've already made a cll and they are running me a quote that I'll have in the morning it's a small local place that deals with 8 different agencies so they can get me the best rate out of there 8. I'll find out tomorrow what the whole 8 are.

That seems a bit uncalled for. I would call them and tell them to put it back down.

I did and they didn't seem to care. Said b/c that accident last year cost them 14K that they had to raise it.

Wow... that sux. 8yrs, you would think they would try to keep a loyal customer

Do you insure other things through them? Usually you can get a pretty decent discount if you insure your house, life, farm etc through them. Also, if you own several vehicles you could get a fleet policy. Also, if you pay yearly or bi-yearly you generally get a discount as well.

My vette and my truck at the moment. I did have 4 cars and life with them but now just two cars.

Yeah I called and they said it was b/c the accident but I full year later the raise the rates. So reguradless I'm not dealing with these guys anymore. I told them straight up that If I find someone that Will charge me $5 less a month I'm going with them just to get my money out of this place.

Hell I always pay cash. Always on time if not ahead. Always pay a little extra (if the bill is 55 I'll pay 60-80) and at one point in time I swear I was told I had to stop paying on my life and my vette b/c I was So far ahead that there system couldn't handle the overflow. I was over my policy term by almost 6 months.

The other real question is what coverage we are talking about. Full covereage has always been a little high for me. I was paying ~$125/mo for 2 cars, one with full coverage. I added my wife and it went to $150 with three cars, with full coverage on two of the three.

I was paying $8 a month but wanted full coverage.... now I pay $13 a month. I pay extra for coverage that covers not just my self and my vehicle but also any personal (after market) items that were destroyed. I now have $3500 worth of coverage for personal items damaged in a crash. Most inusrnace policies won't pay for a destroyed GPS or other after market additions in an accident.

That is for one vehicle, when a second one is added it will go down to $11.50/month/ vehicle.


I assure you folks. There is a better way.
