I'm trying to learn as much about the care of this fish as possible before i even think of buying one. I was wondering for those who have kept/keep this fish is it easy to keep? Does it have any special needs that need to be met? Should it be fed anything specail? What kind of fish should it be kept with? How big of a tank does it need?

That's all the questions i have for now though i'm sure i'll have more soon.
Thanks in advance

I would suggest 20 gals minimum per fish..Can be a solitary fish at times, and you need to provide nice dart-holes for these fish to escape into....Readily accept all kinds of food...A peacefull fish by all accounts...You can keep these with most fish besides boisterous fish...agression in the tank can cause these to jump, so, ensure a good fitting lid on the tank...

Any more questions, just holla....

yes.. if you mean like a perc or occelarus.. not too sure about the larger 'meaner' clowns

Make sure you got a tight Lid these things jump constantly!

i asked my fish guy about them for my tank and he said they are pretty easy to keep, only thing he said was they turn into feeder fish the moment u put anything aggressive near em, and the jumping thing was mentioned as well...

I avoided them personally because my tank only has a small bit of see thru plastic for a lid with holes in and if he wanted to jump he could do easily...if you hav a tight fitting lid youll be ok.

When he says agressive he deffo means something meaner than a common clown or a percula.

they are nice and very very peaceful fish anything more agressive then it will constantly bully it/them depending on the tank size i would definetly get a small school for 4 or 5

I think they are a pretty and easy fish to keep. I kept mine a a 22g sw tank with some clowns and gobies. It was a success and I fed them brine shrimp and alage flakes.

i had a pair in a 29 with a neon velvet and balck and gold chromis.. as long as they are well established in a tank and the more agressive fish have their own territory (plenty of hiding places) and they aren't predatious (grouper, eel, lions, hawks etc), they should get along ok depending what exactly they are with..
things like dotties and damsels.. ok
the aforementioned eels/lion etc no
things like larger non agressive fish, larger wrasses, puffers, tusks etc.. also no

small, generally testy, fish can be worked around... i guess is what im saying
