HI guys,i m new to this species but this piece has totally caught my eye t them, they are absolutely Beautiful and Charming and i like them anot but i hope to learn more infos about them so i can give them a better place to stay in and they will feel comfortable with,I find that My Pulchra does not seem to like to hunt for the live feeder fish and whenever a small catfish swim past he will freak out man, find that it really weird and funny, maybe u bros who keep puchra too can share with me what their favourite foods and like what they like or dislike ,Thank alot and it will be greatly appreciated:D

hi mate , my adults where fed on frozen blocks of bloodworm , brineshrimp , ect , and took this from day one without problem , they like many caves and lots of coverage from plants , floating and planted , when they trully feel comfortable they will be out in the open much more . they do prefer lower temps of around 23 deg , but i know of one guy over here who bred them at 27-29 deg ,so must tolerate a very wide temp range . my water is at 7.2 ph and they seem very happy . all my babies are now eating pellets (crushed) , if your having trouble getting them to feed try some sort of worms ,they seem to like theese a lot . they do seem to prefer to be in a tank of there own

hope this helps some ,

:DThank alot Bro for sharing wit me,yesterday i have tried mealworms and the fellow gobble it up without thinking twice, glad to know that at least its eating and now i agree with u that they cannot resist the temptation of worms,as for fish i guess maybe he dun realli like it ,but will try small frogs later on and maybe even pellet to see my luck if they will take it,if yes for goodness sake they can have a more variety of foods to feed on,as i always believed i dun mind to spend more on whichever that is best for my baby when i decide to keep them rather than the cost;)Bro,may i know which type of pellets u are feeding them with or is there any recommended popular one that i could give it a try...Lastly I keep them in a PH of ard 6.0 as i add in some blackwater which lower the PH and a temp of 28-29 Deg and they are doing pretty fine so afar but maybe i will try to add lesser blackwater to make the ph to roughly ard 6.5 which i think will be the best for them:grinno:

how long does it roughly takes for a new Pulchra to fully stable down and show it real nice blue, any idea bros??:D

Hi,

depends on the size, and the tank they are in.
mine were small when I got them, they got used to the tank, but did not shwo the grey back collor for a long time. It started when they got older and bigger, so they look like the big guys. I have fourteen of them by now ;-)

Cheers

ic thank for sharing and u actually keep 14 of them, its realli cool to have so many cute babys,i mean u will enjoy watching them when in your free time and u know what ,now whenever i m free instead of my watching my favourite programs i will prefer to watch them more:D

The best thing to do for colour is to put in white gravel, it brings out their colours amazingly! you see more of the orange and blue and the scales down lighter in colour. The look alot better believe me ;)

HI,

dont agree, most fish show fadet colours on white and other light coloured griounds. Most intensive colur is shown in dark tanks, low lighted and a dark ground
