wow...piranha guru..what did I do to deserve such title? it felt extremely heavy...I think I'm gonna pass it to someone else as I am still learning everyday.
all the fish I had becomes very pale when stressed, never seen one actually get darker when stressed...but I only have so many fish and they are all different.
where did you get the caribe from? the same vendor you bought the others? at 7" I would think they should still have more red than what's showing in the picture. (at least that's what I'm hoping cuz I don't want mine to look like that after few months, I NEED to see the red belly and black humeral spot. lol)
it could due to the genes of that caribe, or the diet it was having and water parameter it was kept in. put it on high quality diet as you did to other pygos, it might become a bit more colorful..let's hope it's gonna be like that.

Oh well maybe Diogenes may want the title.....

As for the color I think what you mentioned about the diet could be the key, when I got the caribe he was kinda thin I think he was being underfed but now this will change. This last week I have them on a diet of shrimps and I have heard those are good for the color to come up, he is adapting pretty well and now, after 25 days he's showing more apetite.

Lets see what happens.

Come on Dio!!!! I know that you know about P's, in fact, from what I have read of your posting you could be among the 5 forist in MFK with more knowlege about P's.

nah. I'm just a bookworm. I read a lot. Something catches my fancy and I have to learn as much as I can about it. That doesn't make me the master, but the student!

besides you know more about true piranhas (pygos) than I ever will.

I am pretty far from being the most expetised in piranha keeping, In fact I had a lot of trouble in Pfuk with some of the guys, you know how those british are, they know about P'keeping and they make fun of you if they feel that what you're posting is crap, they bullied me a lot because they said I was very unexperienced.

I had this two arguments with one of the F.staff member because he called me and Idiot and now you want to give me the guru title.....

well you know some of those guys have been at it way longer than any of us on this board. The reason I stay over here most of the time is that I don't catch a lot of that attitude over here. I learn from the ones worth talking to, and I ignore the ****heads that think they know everything.
