so, in about a year, i'm hoping to get a a baby anaconda. i wanted to start reading up on them as soon as possible. so first, how big does the enclosure need to be? and second, what should i feed it? third, how should i handle it? and anything else would be GREATLY appreciated. if it helps, i want a male so it wont be as big when agult size.
lol chill you have a year and its only been 9 minutes. I am sure someone will be on that can help. Or while you wait use the search feature and search for Anaconda. There is a couple of members that keep them.
caring for an anaconda is a challenge, they will require a massive filtered and heated pond as well as at least a room sized dry area, they're super expensive to feed aswell, are you prepared to be feeding it rabbits etc? and many of the anaconda's i've seen have horrible tempers and I wouldn't expect them to outgrow this, although some are ok

yellows are a bit smaller, Max. size is listed as 15' but i've never seen one quite that big, yellows would still require the same carewise you would be able to get away with a slightly smaller enclosure
i've heard their nastier as well. i'd highly suggest caring for or at least working with something like a burmese python before going straight for an anaconda, just to get the hang of such large snakes.
