Hi! I'm a cichlid newbie here, just started keeping cichlids for a year by now. Can you guys help recommend me any American cichlids that are completely carnivorous(insectivorous, piscivorous and etc.) or any American cichlids that are omnivorous are also fine, but must be leaning more towards meaty/high protein foods with carnivorous tendencies more than veggies and algae.

Agree with the above Parachromis (and related piscavoous species such as Petenia).
from Central America, and the pike genera from S America (Crenicicls, Lugubria etc).
The reality is, most cichlids are omnivores.

Just to be sure, I'm interested in the red terror(festae) and the umbee too. Are they omnivorous or carnivorous? Because some websites said they're omnivorous, some said they're carnivorous.

When larger festae will eat small fish but will go for insects on water surface or in the water. They will also eat light green in their diet.

When I had my festae, they ate northfin cichlid pellets that are for omnivore/predator at 38% protein.
