I would like to start by saying thanks to Scott ‘Geezer’ Grant for a great event this year those of you that fined Carp fishing a strange hobby (I know there are quite a lot of you) as you probable know its a huge thing in Europe and one of the character is Scott. Over the last 2 years Geezers Charity Event has raised just under £7000 For Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. Scots niece Lily was the reason he started doing this event and is currently being treated once a year. Lily is like a brand new little girl after having her failed kidney removed in December 2005.
The event was held again this year and I managed to get my self a place on it. It was held on a 22 acre lake in Essex, stocked with over 200 fish. The stars for this year’s event are: Dave Levy, Lee Jackson, Rob Maylin, Gary Bayes, Pete Castle, Gary Lowe, Nigel Sharp and Richard Farnan. Just to name a few. I fished with Gary Low and I must say what a top bloke and what a great time we had Gary and my self won the even with the biggest weight of fish and I think I was piped at the post for the biggest fish by about 2lb.

Once again thanks Scott and thanks Gary. and a big thank to Heathrow Bait Services as all my fish came in on there bait:naughty:

Those are some monstrous carp! The lake is only stocked with 200 fish? That sounds like a small number!

we fish huge pit here some of them have very low stocks of fish I know people that have fished big water for months for one fish ok its a 40lber but that’s carp fishing UK style. If it was easy it would be called catching not fishing.:naughty:

more picks of the lake.

You have to come to MN. The pond I fished last was 100 ft in diameter and was chalk full of fish. MN state record is 55lbs, and I am willing to bet there is a record breaking carp in every lake here. The reason it hasn't been broken is that almost no one fishes for them.

Not a big fan of bowfishing. The fish rarely get utilized.
