carpintas escondido

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a breeding pair and a huge carpinte x texas. They are absolutely beautiful and are extremely aggressive.

You will be a very happy camper with these fish......

The real name is Herichthys carpintis (Jordan & Snyder, 1899)

The escondido is a reference to a particular locale that the fish comes from. There is no escondido texas. Texas cichlids are Herichthys cyanoguttatus (Baird & Girard, 1854) and are not found at Escondido AFAIK

I think that he meant that he has carpinte/cyanoguttas hybrids......

Those are carpintis, but don't look like escondido to me.

I was thinking the same thing just now. Escondido will have worm-like markings on the side of their face. We'll need a better shot from the side to tell you...
