I've noticed that more than one person has a carpinte/cyano cross that's a giant, short-bodied, humped monster. What sort of parents make a beast like this? I have a male carpinte and female short-bodied cyano, do you think they could produce something like thatfishguy's cross? Maybe thatfishguy could chime in. Here are pics of my fish, I'm lacking the nuchal hump gene, but I read something about it being a recessive trait, so who knows? What's a guy gotta do to get some humped nasties around here??

how big are yours? give them time they look young from the pic. i am currently raising capinte+cyano fry. if they do well then they will be sold off.
the parents are young only around 3" they get better looking as they get larger.

The male's a carpinte for sure, he's got big pearls, that's just a bad picture. He's 5-6 inches and the female is 4-4.5" I believe.

Fish boy: I hadn't seen that guy yet, looks great! What'd he look like when he was young? When did his hump come out?

i dont see them with any worming.
