Whats up Gary. I've noticed that too. I bought five F1 carps and they all ended up being male. I thought I had given them all away but it seems I had one small one hiding in the rock work. He's a male too.

That is interesting.

BTW, how are those F1 Costa Rican convict fry's doing? Make sure to keep the biggest and yellowest male and the blackest female out of the group.

I don't do my fishes justice because of my lack of photo skills. They are so much more colorful in person.

The sex ratio is not even. I got only one female out of a group of seven. I just wish there were more females available so that everyone can have a pair.

But if you g to most LFS here in my area, you'll find mostly females (obviously not wild caught).

LFS - More female

I had a 3/3 mix with the escondido I bought from Rapps back in 2004. First death was caused by a very aggressive female heheh

It takes some practice to get good with taking fish photos.
