Carpintis/Black Convict

My Carpintis and my Black Convict have begun making a nest in my 240. I was trying to breed the Carpintis with my Flowerhorn, oh well.
Has anyone heard of this mixture?
Is it rare for these two to breed?
Does anyone else feel that the Black Convict is an ugly fish and doesn't deserve the Carpintis....?

I feel that the convict doesnt deserve it.
Unless its a huge convict.

Here are some pics. The convict and the carpintis keep moving around the tank. Making nests everywhere.... Haven't picked a spot yet. They're swimming side by side and the Carp will swim really fast in circles around the convict while she holds still. Fun to watch. The ONE fish in the tank that I didn't want the Carpintis to breed with!........what an ugly fish.

Oh! heres the weird part... The convict, i beleive, is a female. She has laid eggs in the past. The Carpintas I thought was a female also.....I guess I could be wrong about the Carp? Either that or I've got Lez' fish...

and if your wondering why only a few of the pics have the convict, its because she's ugly.

I see some orange in the convict, could be female?
Not certain as I cant reall see it.

If you wanna ship, I'll take that convict

Yeah, she had a lot more orange in her before she started bumpin' uglies with the Carpintus.
And thanks for the offer, but shes happy now that she has a butt buddy. I know it sounds stupid, but she's been alone in her tank for years.
