Carpintis Growth/Size?

About a month ago I purchased a 2in female Carpintis that seems to be growing rather slow. IS this normal for this species (even though I do regular 30% water changes and provide an excellent diet)? Also, I've read conflicting information as to how large the females of this species can get. Thoughts?

Well, they do grow a bit slower than oscars, jaguars, embee's, and ect. What is your tank size? Minimum tank size for a female carprintis is a 55 gallon. If your tank is smaller than a 55 you might stunt its growth.

Yes it is normal. They grow slow to other cichlids.

Females can get to about 10". They grow in spurts.

not unsual....try feeding lots of frozen food and lot of protine to bulk em up

I have my female escondido in a divided tank with my male grammodes. Its a competition for who can grow more slowly.

I'm thinking my female grew about .5" a month.
