Carpintis pre spawn behavior?

My carpintis has gone ape sh*t towards everyone except the flowerhorn. She constantly is following him around turning dark and shaking her body and digging when he is right by her. Can they even breed? I thought I saw an egg tube but I think she is still small

I think the offspring could be neat looking if they do breed. My only concerns are that the Carpintis is too small or the Flowerhorn is infertile
