Last Wednesday I got a male 3.5" carpintis "vontehillo" from Cavamart (I recommend him highly), and was wondering how long I should expect it to take for him to get comfortable, and to start taking the food I'm offering (the same food cava was feeding him before he shipped him actually)

Tank is a 55 gallon, tankmates are 8 gold danios, 1 orange seam pleco, and 1 raphael cat.

Filtration - AQ110, AQ70, AQ50, 165GPH Powerhead, weekly 40% WC

just give him a little time to settle in,he should be fine in a couple of days

Thanks! Looking for as many opinions as possible. Should I just "fast" him for a couple days to see if he becomes interested in the food I give?

This was him on day 1

Looks good, j would feed little amounts, e times a day until he becomes interested..

Okay - he's sulking today, bottom of the tank, breathing slowly but not responding to anything in the tank, not interested in food. Therefore I did a 50% wc lol

Is there anything in there with him? What are your water parameters? He was the alpha jerk male of the group before he shipped out. I figured he would snap out of it by now. He got more than his fare share of food over here so he might be able to go a few more days without anything. Keep us posted. If he doesn't snap out of it, the parents are on Aquabid right now. Pretty compatable pair.

In the tank, there are 8 gold giant danios (mostly swim in the upper 1/2 of the tank), 1 spotted raphael (2.5") who always hides, and a 4.5" spotted orange seam pleco (also hides and is ignored). Lighting fixture is a 30" aqueon hood (I like the fading light on the sides)

Doing a parameters check now...

Should I introduce the con who was in the tank before he was introduced? (The con is in the 10 QT until the Texas is comfortable) Because I figured I'd wait until the texas was coming around (about 2 weeks or so) before bringing him back...
