I have been looking at geting filters for my 90 gallon and have almost decided on the cascade 1000. After reading a bunch of reviews I hear a lot of great things. The one bad thing I hear is the 1200 and 1500 alow for a lot of bypass. That is why I am thinking of getting two 1000's I hear there is very little if any bybass from them. So does anyone have any bad experiances with this model of this brand? Thanks for your time.

The only problem i had was the 1/2'' gap between the top tray and the tray casing. But to fix that you can stuff polishing pads in between the gaps.

I like the looks of this bad boy & the price is right. Is it worthy of taking on a 100G by itself, or will it need some HOB help?

The 2217 dosent have as good of a water turn over as the two 1000's would. I am keeping south american cichlids currently in the tank but that could change when I get my 180 we will see. I do like the monster size of the eheim. It seems great but the priming sounds crapy and that's the whole reason I'm not sticking to my renas I have 3 of them and I hate dumping water into the intake and trying to get the cap on quikly. I useually have to try like 3 times. Its a bit of a pain. I will look in closer detail when I go tonight to check out prices. Thanks for all the comments.

I don't have to get the cap on quickly, fill the intake line, put on the cap and then push the lever down on top of the cannister.
Works for me.

Also, 2xcascade 300 hob's would work just as good as well. But i would go with the 1500. 5 trays for the 1500 and i think 3 trays for the 1000.
