Cascade canister filter

I purchased a used 75 gal. tank and it came with a PENN PLAX Cascade 1200. I looked it up on the net cause I don't know much about this brand. It pumps 315 gph. Thats about 4x so not too bad but can someone tell me if Cascade is worth a ****? If not, any suggestions as far as canisters go?

i got a 1500 on my 150 and it works great. only thing is, when it comes to putting filter media in it, you cant over stuff it because it will lose water gph and if you under stuff it, you'll get alot of bypass. i found that good spot in the middle and it works great. i just use mine for mech/chem filtration. i have 2 350 biowheels for bio filtration. use the 1200 and add a 350 biowheel and just use the 1200 for mech filtration

If you have a working canister filter, just use it.. there's no reason for him to go buy a rena if he has a working cascade... it'll do the job..

Thanks. I will probably keep it and add an AC110 or an AC70.

I went to Petco to get media for it but they only carried media for the Cascade1000. Anyone know other places that carry the media?
