You just put a 1/4 weather strip around the top of the top basket to force the water to go through all the baskets then around the baskets. Good idea. LOWE's Here I come.

I am new to the forum but i thought I would give some input to the cascade filters with regard to the bypass they have.

I went to the hardware store and got some 1/4 inch weather stripping and stuck it to the top outside edge of the top basket to fill the gap and this has stopped all bypass.

I would be worried about the adhesive they use on the weatherstripping...you can get foam or floss and do the same thing by just pushing down in the space after you load the top basket. That's how I did it...but in all honesty I didn't really see a difference in the water parameters, and I have to clean it out the same 1 time monthly...I use the 1500 on a 49 bow front...

It does, But some of the dirty water escapes through the sides. Thus the weather strip is a good idea. The extra dirty water that escapes from the sides Has no chose but to go through the baskets.
