cat for 75gallon?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think the catfish shouldn't exceed half of the tank's width and shouldn't fit in oscar's mouth.

One can filter the Cat-eLog on PlanetCatfish by max size and see what one likes, can find and afford, etc.

Other important things to consider are if a catfish is a bottom dweller or not, a hider or not, a shoaling kind, timid or bold, an active swimmer or rather sedentary, etc.

HTH.

Many synodontis fit the bill, but I think a large cat and an oscar is quite the bioload. What filtration are you running?

To throw in a variety of opinions, I think 75 gal may be a bit tight size-wise but I'd not think of bio-filtration as the necessary bottleneck in this scenario.

things are getting to be repetitive. everyone asks a question regarding stocking and the answer almost always seems to be " nope too small of a tank, you'll be over stocked. nobody has asked what my water parameters are currently or my waterchange schedule. as well as what filtration I have.which is 2 ac110s and a sun sun canister. I change my water every 3 days regardless of nitrates. and I test ammonia daily. so instead of giving me run on the mill answered about how I should own a pond because I have an Oscars how about you guys try and actually answer the question being asked.

Featherfin synodontis can work. sun cats can be a little tight given their eventual size. A 125 could fit a sun cat and an oscar

They've answered your question to the best of their ability. No need to get worked up. To answer your question simply, I wouldn't keep anything that gets over a foot personally.
