ok I love my cats to death, especialy the wallmart rescue guy, both are like dogs and like rough play and all that fun stuff.Anyways, this is why I dont like them, they will not stop pissing on the water bowl.Used to be only if I didnt fill it back up in time, now its even if its half full.Of course a little always gets on the carpet and thats the big pisser. Please help me with ideas to stop this, cat box is clean,I already know Ill get a bunch of I hate cat comments from ppl who think I want to know for some reason but if you dont hate them, please help. The good far outweighs the bad but this sucks, lol.

Take a water bottle, and a weekend. Empty the water dish, and sit by it. When they start to pee, spray them with the water.

So they are marking the water dish?I have one that tries to drink it dry or bury it and another who eats all the food he can find so i have one trying to starve the other and one trying to make the other die of thirst.
what about a vinly placemat of pesmart carries a tray that holds water and food bowl it
has like a 3 inch backsplash and 4-5 inches of empty in front of the food bowls.-Anne

That doesn't solve the underlying problem though, that merely makes the problem easier to clean up..

We have a cat that pees where he shouldn't, it's hard to stop. You may want to get a new bowl and/or move it to a new part of the house. Like Beblondie said a mat would help.

We keep our food and water on a plastic tray. It doesn't look that classy, but it cuts down on the mess.

Are they both male and have they been neutered?

In the water bowl?? The only thing I could think of is maybe try a different bowl? Place something like a place matt under the bowl to help save the carpet. I know they make stuff to spray on carpets, furniture and stuff to repel them from going on it...maybe spray some of that in the area the bowl is? I've never had this problem so I really don't know, just some things I thought of trying...maybe move the bowl to a different area, I'm at a lose here.

Good luck though!
