CAT KILLER ON THE LOOSE

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry for the loss. But any large pim. cat will eat whatever will fit in his mouth. That is why you can't put smaller fish with them. If you are going to keep other fish with these kinds of cats, then they have to be much bigger in diameter than their mouths. Like a large Datnoid, aro, stingray, perch, etc. Not only that but most large pims are territorial and if you put a smaller cat with them, well you see what happens twice now.

The Tig was introduced to the tank. There was a divider in the tank to keep them seperated, but he some how made it to the other side. That was my fault. I didn't give it a second thought about the lima's being in there because they grew up together. The 2 lima's used to lay on the Planiceps back like two logs. I just never thought it would come to this. Oh well, live and learn.

Yeah, the reason I'm telling you this because I have owned many large cats and have lived and learned from fish disapearing from my tank. :naughty: You just can't trust these cats with even the same size fish. I remember this lfs and the owner had a 400gallon tank with one huge Redtail catfish and one huge clownknife. Both were like full grown. Well one day I went in right when they opened and when the owner turned on the lights, I looked up to check the big bruisers and the redtail cat had that huge clownknife sticking out of his mouth. He couldn't even swollow it because he couldn't get the widest part of the knife past his mouth, but he still tried. Right away the owner ran over to the tank and pulled the knife out of the cats mouth. Luckily for the knife it had just happened and the knife ended up making it.
