I have a pictus and a raphael cat, and they both do well with O's. The pictus tend to be a little more active. I am looking for something a little bigger tho.
Hey Oscarhook, How big are your Oscars? I was just wondering bc I have a 120 as well, but it's lookin like my tank is cramped already, and I only have the two O's, a pictus and a pleco! Obviously I'll have to upgrade bc I have another O, jag, gt, and tex just curious.
One of the most active and "oscar-safe" species is the hoplo cat. They are armored, so don't get "damaged" when bitten, and mine go up to the surface to eat foating pellets. This applies to most species of hoplo cats, as Hoplosternum littorale, Megalechis thoracata and Callichthys callichthys.
I am a big of the larger Synodontis Catfish for several reasons. More peaceful than some of the alternatives like most of the Pictus, They seem to come out more during the day than most other catfish, and there sideways and upsidedown swimming makes them fun to watch.
Also the Synodontis Decorus makes noise as well.
I have two synodontis cats with my O's. They do great. The O's were little curious when I first got them but now they don't pay them any attention. Just give them a piece of driftwood or rock to hide under. And for pictus cats it just depends on the temperment of your O's. Since pictus cats are very active I think the O's might notice them and take a bite.
