Catch locations/variants

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Still how do we know a faranah endli is infact a faranah endli and not a endli that spent most of its life near dabola ? I mean we are taking about a town where the the fish was caught near is there any difference ?

Plus with the substrate and lighting playing such a role it makes it even harder.

Ive compared the pics, Dr.B Dr.B , J jaws7777 , DMD123 DMD123 (me), of the Dabola endli and I can tell you this much you cant really determine much from pattern. They each have different banding. The only consistency Ive spotted is the head shape being elongated and flat. In the end its still just an endli, lol

Yeah but i think the the head looks the same in ours compared to guinea endlis from pfk....again my eyes suck with these things though which i guess anything labeled guinea endli is probably a dabola or faranah..right ?

We have spoke on numerous occasions bot how I don't like endli in general. But for some reason I have liked the pics of what Ive seen called the 'Guinea endli'. Always seemed to have the general flattened head I like the look of. But Dabola and Faranah are just catch locations found in Guinea, so is it reasonable to just call them Guinea endli? lol

For the most part, wild caught endlies are all going to have that nice long, flat head.

I actually suggested the same thing either earlier in this thread or back in mine. I was talking about since most of the catch locations are in Guinea all the kolibas, kolotons, and Faranah laps could technically be labeled "Guinean laps". The catch locations gives clarity to exactly where they were caught. While some people may think it could technically be useless, I think it Definitley helps with notIcing differences and such. Because especially in laps, you can see major differences between them all even though there's a decent amount of different catch locations in Guinea.

Yeah, Im starting to realize all the characteristics I like about certain bichirs are because they are wild caught. Im starting to dislike my cb teugelsi now

I guess im the odd man out. I like cb. I dont have a large group like you guys so maybe that plays a part in this but for me cb are always more outgoing than wc.. part of the reason why i love my ornate so much.

That's not an issue of CB or WC bro. Ornates and Weeksi are two of the most bold bichers in the hobby!

for me del, sen, endli, ornate that are cb are way more outgoing vs the wc ive had (lap, endli, gold dust, moke) maybe its because the group was small but just what ive noticed. Like you guys said maybe the larger the group the better.

The new endli is 10x more active than any of the other wc ive had but still nowehere near as active as the cb.
