The reason I'd just put the Bala into the bucket is because they have a slime coat which, IME damages very easily. I once had to grab it underwater because it was trapped under a log, and I grabbed it with my hand, let it go, and it recieved a nice shock. You can easily tell where it has lost its slime coat by a bright layer of silver on thier scales.
