anyone know a good spot to catch fish? ive been to redondo beach and caught mackerel but the water is too dirty... i wanna go some where i can catch some nice fish and take it home

Do some google searches and there is a ton of place. you can take a charter from almost anywhere. I've been doing Marina Del Rey Sportfishing lately and it's been really good. Channel Islands Sportfishing is good for up north. And there are a bunch south of LA. Check out the Bloodydecks forums. If you want pier fishing try Goleta. It's a good one that not too many people go to. That's probably because it's 2 hours north of LA (Santa Barbara area) though and best fishing is at night.
There is a bunch of good lakes. I haven't been to many. I went to Diamond Valley lake and rented a pontoon boat and it was a lot of fun. We didn't cant much, only a couple keepers but I've heard of some real monsters being caught there and Lake Irvine.

you should check your state regulation on fishing! some state prohibit catching fish by hand, fish net(except the invasive species)
elsinore is pretty dirty. try irvine or corona lakes. but be advised they charge to fish and stock the lakes.
