"WARNING: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm."

The warning says it only causes cancer in the state of California.. (karma of all the good deals in socal) The other 49 states should be fine..

Do it at night when they are asleep. Turn off all the lights in your fish room and wait for half an hour. It's super easy - they would just sit there and not move at all.
Yeah, that's the strategy for faster fish. These guys were easy enough to net, the problem was just how much they splashed once netted.

Fair enough... no more melafix except in extreme beatings.

They struggle less too. Still half asleep.

Yeah I thought it was funny when I first saw that warning too. Its on stuff with malachite green in it too.

I used to buy melafix and use it all the darn time. Haven't needed it in years now that I know how to keep healthy water. I'm sure there are times when it might be okay, like for a big open wound. But mostly it's just wasted money.

That's just a legal thing. One of the API scientists did explain it to me once (the regulations are different here in the UK). I can't recall exactly what he said, but I think it was along the lines of, that you have to state that on the bottle if you can't actually prove to the contrary. Proving to the contrary is apparently complicated and costly to do.
