hi
i am about to pick up 2 rita rita catfish
right now they will be in a 120g and will later on be moved to my RTCs and tsns pond

i wanted to be sure whether they will coexist or it will be a bad idea to mix these guys

necro and basslover you will have to look at the pics of these beauties when i get them
guess what color morph they will be :naughty: :naughty: :naughty:

other than the possibillity of becoming feeders, i see no problem

rita rita catfish can grow as big as an RTC sometimes bigger too

i know that. just make sure you get a big one. An RTC and be a feeder for an oscar if the sizes are wrong. post some pics when you get it

thanks for the heads up bro
but when it comes to my RTCs and TSNs appetite i think i know whta i am dealing with
but what i didn't know was the disposition of a catfish with dog like teeth and catfish with just the plate like teeth to grab food
as the rita rita is gonna have dog like teeth and necro has had some experience i believe and wanted to know how would the comm be

I have no experiance with Rita Rita... From what I have heard though they can have a nasty disposition or can be really cool with Tankmates... it's hard for me to say anything either way... My Rita's are chill with everyone in their tank but eachother ... from time to time they will scuffle and have the best fish fights I've ever seem (more play fighting since neither ever gets hurt, seems like they are the pro-wrestlers of the fish world) but they aren't Rita Rita... they are Rita Sacerdotum (7' monsters (not yet but will be :D))

Ive seen many Rita rita over a 30 year period, all were fairly aggressive.I have to confess though ive never seen a specimen larger than 8 to 10 inches, have we got the right fish here?,many large brown Bagrids look similar.
