Catfish for a central american tank?

What other fish are going in?
There are not a lot of CA catfish brought into the hobby. Most use SA from West of the Andes due to them being in higher PH simular to CA fish.
If stocking small fish what you mentioned would work. If going bigger look at Pimelodus Ornatus. In the same family as Pictus but grow to bigger size. Ornatus getting to about a foot in size.

I find that most SA cichlids don't screw with catfish. But... some catfish are crazy! The pictus catfish is one of those crazy ones! Don't get one of those. I would get a slow moving armored catfish. Tons of plecos to choose from! Heres a cool picture I found the other day.

O nice looking pleco. Looks like he has been around for quite a few years already from how his pectoral fins have such pronounced spikes on em. Patton, does the catfish need to be South American? If not then I could give you a list of several catfish that might suit your fancy.
If a Jag I would leave it as solo, can be mean and these types of catfish ate not cheap to be ending up as cichlid punching bags.I do like some of those different plecos.
Jexnell I plan on having my Jag in the tank. Im thinking of having him in there alone but still thinking about something in there with him.
