H guys, I am planning to make a Geophagus Comm tank... I already know what geos to put in them for now... and I am looking for a species of catfish from South America that is small to medium sized... so that it doesn't get eaten by the geos in case they do feel snacky.... the Geos I am planning to have in my tank are RHT and either Satanoperca leucostica or jurupari.

Any suggestions?

You could do a species of corydora, green corys get a nice size and are tough as nails but are extremely docile

Good ideas so far... keep em coming... are any of these suggestions peaceful catfish? Anyone have experiencing keeping zamora cats, bumblebee catfish, jaguar cats and striped raphael with geos?

I can't imagine Satanoperca eating a bristlenose or cory...I've mixed without issues in the past

I see... but won't Corys and brusmouth plecos get eaten by those cichlids when they get bigger?

The Geophaginae family has a mouth structure for sifting sand, that's what put them in that family. They do not have a structure for eating other fish at all. I've been keeping various geo species with various cats for years without a single issue, ever.
