Catfish ich help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Got one catfish to feed last night. Tossed in two pellets infront of her hiding spot and not long after lights out they were gone and kitty has a nice limp in her belly. Other cat still hasnt eaten, tried the same thing twice last night and woke up to both pellets still there and cat in the same spot. Seems odd to me because the one who ate - is the one thats always hiding day or night. The more active one who openly comes out in daylight to explore still hasnt eaten - i would have assumed that one would eat first being the more active and bold one.

So far all seems to be going well. No visible spots or symptoms, everyones eating and acting normal as usual. Just running the full length of treatment now to be sure I cleared it out.

Nice!

Im curious about these catfish's breathing patterns now. The one that still isnt eating is always breathing fast, and the larger fat one goes from regular paced breathing to faster than normal. Im not sure if they're still stressed over something, I habe the tank setup to their liking with decor and hiding places. At this point, I think im about to lose the smaller one.

Iv read that young pictus cats tend to have rapid breathing aswell, so maybe its normal. During the ich treatment - i also treated for a range of bacterial and other parasitic infections, so they shouldnt be sick at this point, all symptoms died off weeks ago.

Hi!! I know this is an old post but I just received yesterday a Jaguar too and concerned about the rapid breathing... how did it go for you??
